Arthropodium cirratum - Rengarenga
DESCRIPTION & SIZE GUIDE
Rengarenga is a clump-forming perennial with broad, strap-like green leaves growing 60 cm tall. In summer, it produces sprays of fragrant star-shaped white flowers. Ideal for underplanting, shaded gardens, or coastal terraces, space plants 50 - 60 cm apart for a clumping effect. Its bold leaves and delicate flowers provide both structure and seasonal interest in mixed native plantings.
ECOLOGICAL BENEFIT
Flowers provide nectar for native bees and insects, while dense foliage offers habitat for invertebrates. Its groundcover qualities suppress weeds and help stabilise soil. Planting Rengarenga supports local biodiversity and creates functional, low-maintenance native gardens.
GROWING CONDITIONS & CARE
Prefers semi-shade with moist, well-draining soils. Tolerates frost, wind, and coastal conditions. Minimal maintenance required; removing older foliage promotes fresh growth. Performs well in urban, coastal, or shaded native gardens.
